J & H Mitchell WS, in association with Angus Rural Partnership, is delighted to be hosting a free Charity Trustee Seminar on 12 September in Angus. Please feel free to share details of this event with colleagues and relevant networks.
Time and Date: 7pm, Thursday, 12 September 2024 (tea and coffee from 6.30pm)
Venue: East and Old Parish Church, East High Street, Forfar DD8 2EG
The session will be beneficial to aspiring and serving Trustees, those in senior management in charities, and anyone who is thinking of setting up a charity.
The 90-minute seminar will provide Charity Trustees with practical guidance and an insight into various hands-on aspects of their role, actions and legal responsibilities.
The session will be delivered by Sarah Brown who is one of only eight Solicitors accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Charity Law. Sarah is a Partner at J & H Mitchell WS, Pitlochry, and head of their Charities and Communities Team.
Sarah has specific experience in relation to reviewing the governance of, modernising and reorganising Scottish charities, and in particular working with rural based and grassroots charities.
The session will also highlight the changes to Scottish Charity law which will be introduced by the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023, following Royal Assent in August 2023.
Whilst this event is free to attend, places are limited, and booking is essential. If you would like to attend, please reserve your place by e-mailing enquiries@angusruralpartnership.org.uk.
